The question that haunts every Medium writer:

Should I write for money or for love?

• Is it really a binary choice?
• Do you must choose between creative fulfillment or financial reward?
• Should you write what calls to your soul or what calls to the algorithm?

I’d like to propose a third option:

You can have both.

The False Separation

When I started on Medium, I swung between these two.

Some days, I chased trends and metrics, crafting articles solely designed to maximize earnings.

Other days, I’d rebel and write deeply personal pieces.

And some of those performed the BEST!
