Realization 1: Stop Setting Goals
Because it’s keeping you stuck!
During an argument, my husband told me that my problem is that I lack long-term vision. I don’t know where I want to see myself 5 years or even one year down the line.
But I see that as a strength.
I remember when I was working in my full-time job, I got this question a few times about where I wanted to see myself 2 or 5 years later.
I always said I wanted to see myself as a team leader or in a managerial position. To be honest, I never had the answer.
And thank God, because not having a set goal allowed me to explore other options. Otherwise, I’d still be stuck in a night shift job with no satisfaction and a lot of burnout.
Not having a plan allowed me to:
- Get into freelancing
- Switch from content writing to social media marketing
- Try managing Instagram accounts to growing LinkedIn personal brands, and so much more!
As much as I advocate setting goals or having plans, I cannot disagree that sometimes the best things in life are unplanned.
